YURAKUCHO ART SIGHT PROJECT Vol.4 #1
KOJIMA KEITA | ON THE MOVE

“YURAKUCHO ART SIGHT PROJECT” is a project that aims to create new interactions between the city and art using temporary enclosures and facades as a stage. By installing artworks created through research by artists in the city, the project aims to bring diverse perspectives and ideas to the city and create communication between the artworks and the people on the streets.

In the fourth phase of the project we moved from Yurakucho to Marunouchi, adopting a method in which the three artists appeared in turn. First, the work of artist Keita Kojima was displayed starting in September 2023. Kojima has created unique works that visually explore the relationship between language, perception, and urban space, using artisanal handwork and AR to create textual forms. This work, which is displayed at the “site” of concrete changes occurring in the city, is expressed with the word “ON THE MOVE,” meaning “on the move/moving. By converting the word from “text” to the visual language of “photographs,” the artist aimed to bring new meaning to the city, change the perception of space, and create new relationships with the people on the streets. Over the next year, two artists will present new works created after researching the area.
