Inspired by nighttime sea voyages, this work explores the passage of time through light and movement. Using long exposure, the motion of ships and the moon are rendered as luminous trails, while the gentle ripples on the water—normally invisible in such lighting—emerge through the use of high-speed shutter photography. These intersecting photographic techniques aim to compress distinct timelines into a singular visual plane, where the traces of light serve as metaphors for layered time.

Born in 1988 in Kanagawa. Graduated from the Japan College of Photography in 2019. Working as a freelance photographer, this individual simultaneously explores the commonalities at the core of human existence. In recent years, they have captured the lives of people in Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America. Alongside human environments, they also photograph natural landscapes, with a particular focus on themes such as drift ice and the sea.
