To Still the Tremors
The temporary construction enclosures that appear throughout the city center momentarily interrupt the urban order, yet they gradually fade into the everyday landscape. This work seeks to draw attention to the subtle “tremors” we often overlook, through the quiet presence of a black dog and its puppy standing before such an enclosure. Dogs are known to sense faint changes and signs imperceptible to humans, and by growling or standing guard, they delineate boundaries that must not be crossed. These actions suggest that even in spaces thought to be governed by rationality and control, there remain uncertain and fluctuating zones. All the photographs are presented in inverted black-and-white, arranged so that the enclosure and the images reflect one another. The title, “To Still the Tremors”, expresses an intent to quietly capture these unseen vibrations and offer a moment to reconsider the boundaries that spread beneath our very feet.
