So Here We Are
“So Here We Are” is a series of prints placed on glass walls around the city, paired with photographs of shadows cast by people walking past. In architecture, glass connects interior and exterior through transparency. In this work, however, it becomes a portal that links the real space of the print with another imagined space shown within it — such as a tabletop scene or a nearby landscape. The shadows cast by passersby become a medium that connects the different spatial scales, using the human body as a point of measurement. Murata created this work while regularly visiting YAU STUDIO and photographing various places around the city.
