Pictures for the sightseeing
Pictures for the sightseeing is a reflection on “photo spots,” which are closely tied to tourism. At places built near airports to view aircraft, within these curated landscapes, photographs provide a sense of special memory. Yet, as mentioned by those involved in the Sanrizuka struggle, these sightseeing areas near the airport carry the echoes of historical noise and protest. The silence captured through the lens stands in contrast to that surrounding turbulence, gradually distancing our current perception from the lived realities around airports.
