MATSUBARA MARI
Like an echo, scooping the air.
When we perceive the land of Yokosuka as a sculpture, the close relationship between nature and people becomes apparent. In the past, people created paths, dug tunnels, and laid bricks in a way that aligned with the breathing of nature. This work traces those actions through the existing traces on the land’s surface. Through a process of applying fluid photographs onto the contours of the terrain researched at various locations in Yokosuka, the work presents representations of the land and its fissures, offering a glimpse into Yokosuka’s landscape.
