The collection of photos I found at my grandmother’s house in Yokosuka reflected the life she lived there. Among them was an album belonging to my great-grandfather, who passed away at sea in 1943. My grandmother mentioned that she doesn’t remember much about him, but in one of the funeral photos of my great-grandfather, my grandmother is seen looking sorrowfully downcast. Through the work I am presenting this time, I aim to convey the presence of my grandmother and our family to my great-grandfather.
