How has photography been experimented with over time?
Focusing on its experimental nature, this new “book of photography” surveys nearly 200 years of photographic history through 14 categories—including Camera Systems, Self-Portrait, Landscape Interventions, and Image as Object—featuring 611 works and introductions to 130 photobooks.
This volume brings together two years of research by TOKYO PHOTOGRAPHIC RESEARCH. In addition to a comprehensive works list featuring approximately 500 artists, it includes interviews with six artists and researchers, as well as previously untranslated texts in Japanese by Duncan Wooldridge, Walead Beshty, and Wolfgang Tillmans.
